Marianne, widowed owner of a tour bus company, is fed up to the gills. Her divorced daughter Susanne has been fussing over her ever since her minor heart attack, a hostile takeover is looming on the horizon, and the bank has refused the credit for some long over-due modernisation. She’s had it. Impetuously boarding her ancient bus, it’s off to Rimini for Marianne. And 16-year old granddaughter Nellie, who would rather join her boyfriend Julian and his friends for some surfing, than attend the language course in Brighton organised by her mother. When Marianne hears “Rimini“, nostalgia takes over. It was the scene of her first great love affair. Memories resurface: Giuseppe Anselmi. Maybe he’s still there... So the journey begins. But there are complications. Neither bus nor driver are as sturdy as expected, Susanne and ex-husband Jan are in hot pursuit and drawing closer. And when they do get to Rimini, Julian’s got a new girlfriend and Giuseppe’s not there. He is at Lake Garda... Where they just missed each other… Or so Marianne thinks.
